No official response from YouTube
As of the latest update, YouTube had not issued an official statement addressing the outage or its cause. It is also important to note that Downdetector numbers reflect only user-submitted reports, meaning the actual number of affected users could be significantly higher.
While services appear to be stabilizing in several regions, the incident once again highlights how dependent millions of users are on YouTube for entertainment, information, and work-related content.
