OnePlus Pad Go 2: At what is being called OnePlus’s biggest public-facing event of the year, the company officially launched the OnePlus 15R and the OnePlus Pad Go 2 in India. While the spotlight was firmly on the OnePlus 15R becoming the world’s first phone with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, the new OnePlus Pad Go 2 quietly emerged as a strong mid-range tablet contender.
Launched at a starting price of ₹26,999, the Pad Go 2 is a clear upgrade over the original OnePlus Pad Go from October 2023. It brings a larger and brighter display, a bigger battery, a faster chipset, and a refreshed design — all aimed at users who want a premium tablet experience without paying flagship prices.

Bigger, Brighter Display Designed for Reading and Browsing
The OnePlus Pad Go 2 features a 12.1-inch 2.8K LCD display with a resolution of 2800 x 1980 pixels. The screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate and can reach up to 900 nits peak brightness in High Brightness Mode (HBM), making it easier to use indoors and outdoors alike.
OnePlus has also added TÜV Rheinland Smart Care 4.0 certification for better eye comfort. A standout feature here is the 7:5 ReadFit aspect ratio, which offers about 14 percent more active screen area compared to standard 16:10 displays. This makes reading books, browsing the web, and viewing documents feel more natural and less cramped.
For entertainment, the tablet packs a quad-speaker setup supported by OnePlus Omnibearing Sound Field technology, promising richer and more immersive audio.
Dimensity 7300-Ultra Brings Solid Performance
Under the hood, the OnePlus Pad Go 2 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Ultra chipset. It is paired with 8GB LPDDR5X RAM and comes in 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.1 storage options.
This mid-range chipset is designed to handle everyday tasks, streaming, multitasking, and even casual gaming smoothly. While it may not be a performance monster, it fits well in this price segment. A full performance review will reveal how it stacks up in real-world usage.
Big Battery With Fast Charging and Reverse Charging
The tablet is backed by a 10,050mAh battery, which is fairly standard for this category but still impressive. It supports 33W SUPERVOOC fast charging, helping reduce downtime, and also offers 6.5W reverse charging, allowing users to top up accessories or other devices in a pinch.
Cameras and Stylus Support
In terms of cameras, the Pad Go 2 sticks with the same setup as its predecessor — an 8MP front camera and an 8MP rear camera. While not groundbreaking, they are good enough for video calls, online classes, and basic scanning tasks.
The tablet supports the OnePlus Pad Go 2 Stylo, which is sold separately but is being offered free for a limited time. The stylus features 4,096 pressure sensitivity levels, low latency, and is designed to feel like pen on paper. It promises up to 20 hours of battery life, with just 10 minutes of charging delivering up to 12 hours of use.
Stylus-specific features include:
- Advanced Handwriting Recognition
- Handwriting Enhancement
- Handwriting Calculator for solving equations
OxygenOS 16 and AI Features
The OnePlus Pad Go 2 runs OxygenOS 16 out of the box, the latest software from OnePlus. It comes loaded with several AI-powered tools such as AI Writer, AI Recorder, AI Editor, AI Translate & Summary, along with Gemini and Circle to Search.
A useful addition is AI Speaker, which reads on-screen content aloud and allows users to adjust playback speed and voice gender. For productivity, OnePlus also includes Open Canvas multitasking, supporting split-screen with two apps and an additional floating window.
Price, Variants and Launch Offers
The OnePlus Pad Go 2 is available in Shadow Black and Lavender Drift, measures just 6.83mm thick, and weighs 600 grams.
Pricing in India:
- ₹26,999 – 8GB + 128GB (Wi-Fi)
- ₹29,999 – 8GB + 256GB (Wi-Fi)
- ₹32,999 – 8GB + 256GB (5G)
OnePlus is offering a ₹1,000 limited-time discount and an instant ₹2,000 bank discount. Sales begin on December 18, and the OnePlus Stylo worth ₹3,999 is free as an introductory offer.
Verdict So Far
With the Pad Go 2, OnePlus now neatly fills the gap between the Pad Lite (₹15,999) and the flagship Pad 3 (₹47,999). While a full review is still pending, the Pad Go 2 already looks like a strong mid-range tablet with a premium design, capable hardware, and useful AI features. Buyers can also compare it with rivals like the Redmi Pad 2, which sits in a similar price range.
