Apple is gearing up for one of its biggest service rollouts ever — and India is finally on the list. The tech giant announced on Monday that its premium fitness and wellness platform, Apple Fitness+, will launch in 28 new countries on December 15, including India. This marks the service’s largest expansion since it first debuted five years ago.
Until now, Fitness+ has been available in only 21 countries, including major markets like the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Russia, Brazil, France, Italy, and Germany. With this new rollout, Apple aims to position its fitness service as a truly global offering.

What is Apple Fitness+?
Apple Fitness+ is a subscription-based fitness and wellness program designed to work seamlessly with the company’s ecosystem, especially the Apple Watch, but it can also be used on iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. The service provides studio-style workout sessions featuring professional trainers, curated playlists, and advanced tracking features.
India Pricing: Surprisingly Affordable
Apple is introducing Fitness+ in India at competitive pricing to attract new users:
- ₹149 per month, or
- ₹999 per year
Both plans can be shared with up to five family members, making it one of Apple’s most budget-friendly services available in the country.
Three Months Free for New Apple Device Buyers
To sweeten the deal, Apple is offering three months of Fitness+ free to users who purchase eligible new products, including:
- Apple Watch
- iPhone
- iPad
- Apple TV (latest software version required)
- AirPods Pro 3
- Powerbeats Pro 2
These must be bought from Apple directly or via an Apple Authorised Reseller.
Fitness+ Now in 49 Countries Worldwide
With this expansion, Apple Fitness+ will be accessible in a total of 49 countries and regions, giving users global access to all its core fitness content.
Subscribers can choose from 12 different workout types, including:
- Strength
- Yoga
- HIIT
- Pilates
- Dance
- Cycling
- Kickboxing
- Meditation
Workouts range from 5 to 45 minutes, fitting everything from quick break routines to more intense training sessions. And since you can use it across iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV, it’s flexible enough for home workouts, gym sessions, or even travel.
Track Your Performance — And See How You Stack Up
One of the more interactive features of Fitness+ is the ability to compare your effort with others who’ve completed the same workout. This adds a competitive edge and helps motivate users to push harder.
Integrated Apple Music and New K-Pop Genre
Fitness+ sessions come with expertly curated soundtracks from Apple Music, featuring genres such as:
- Upbeat Anthems
- Latest Hits
- Hip-Hop
- Latin Grooves
But the big musical update this time is the addition of an all-new K-pop workout genre. According to Apple, the new music category brings global hits from top K-pop artists, available across all workout types. It’s a move clearly aimed at tapping into the massive global K-pop fan base and making workouts more energetic and fun.
A Major Step Forward for Apple’s Services
By bringing Fitness+ to India and several other countries, Apple is clearly doubling down on its services strategy. The timing is also notable — as consumers focus more on health, wellness, and flexible home workouts, Fitness+ is well-positioned to attract a wider audience.
India, with its growing fitness and tech-savvy population, is likely to play a significant role in this expansion.
