WhatsApp Supercharges the Calls Tab on iPhone With a New Unified Call Hub — Here’s Everything That’s Changing!

WhatsApp is giving iPhone users a major upgrade with the rollout of a new unified call hub, bringing big improvements to how users place, manage, and organize calls. Although this feature was mentioned in an earlier update, WhatsApp has now officially highlighted it in the latest WhatsApp for iOS 25.35.74 release—signaling a wider rollout across more accounts.

The redesigned experience makes the Calls tab far more powerful, accessible, and convenient, turning it into a true communication control center.

WhatsApp Supercharges the Calls Tab on iPhone With a New Unified Call Hub

A Cleaner, Smarter, All-in-One Call Hub

According to WhatsApp, the unified call hub consolidates all call-related actions into one clean, easy-to-navigate interface. The first item in the hub is a large call button, which opens a full list of WhatsApp contacts.

From this screen, users can:

  • Start one-on-one voice or video calls
  • Initiate group calls with up to 31 participants
  • Quickly search for contacts
  • View recent call activity
  • See suggested contacts based on past interactions

It reduces the need to jump between menus and dramatically speeds up starting conversations.

Schedule Calls Without Leaving the Hub

The new schedule button allows users to plan calls in advance and instantly share the call event inside a chat. All participants receive a notification, ensuring no one forgets or misses the meeting.

Key highlights:

  • Schedule personal or professional calls
  • Reschedule or cancel without leaving the hub
  • Keep all call-related management in one place

It’s a great addition for teams, families, or anyone coordinating time-sensitive conversations.

Built-In Keypad With Number Verification

A dedicated keypad button now gives direct access to WhatsApp’s dialer. Users can type any phone number—even if it’s not saved—and WhatsApp will automatically check whether the number is active on the platform.

For businesses, verified accounts get a visible checkmark beside their number, helping users distinguish official profiles more easily.

This makes calling new contacts or businesses faster and more secure.

Favorites: Your Personal Speed Dial

If you set Favorites, they now appear right at the top of the Calls tab for immediate access. With just a tap, users can:

  • Start a voice call
  • Begin a video call
  • Send a quick message
  • Reorder or remove favorites easily

Even when scrolling through call history, favorites remain visible—similar to a smart speed-dial layout.

A More Powerful, Centralized Calls Experience

By combining the dialer, scheduling options, contact list, and favorites, WhatsApp has transformed the Calls tab into a full communication hub.

Users can now:

  • Start calls faster
  • Manage upcoming calls in one place
  • Organize frequent contacts
  • Access all call tools without switching screens

Everything works together smoothly, especially for users who make frequent WhatsApp calls.

New: Leave a Voice Message After a Missed Call

WhatsApp is also rolling out the ability to leave a voice message directly from the call interface when someone doesn’t answer.

After a missed call, users see a “Record voice message” option. They can tap, record, and send instantly—without needing to open the chat manually.

This is especially useful when you need to share something urgent or personal and want the recipient to receive it right away.

New (Unlisted Feature): Leave a Video Note After Missed Video Calls

Although not mentioned in the official changelog, WhatsApp is also enabling video notes for unanswered video calls.

Users can record a short video directly from the call screen, and it gets sent immediately to the chat along with a missed call alert. It’s a more visual and expressive way to communicate when someone can’t pick up.

Rolling Out Now to More iOS Users

The unified call hub, voice message options, and video notes are now available to a growing number of iPhone users running the latest WhatsApp updates from the App Store.

WhatsApp says it’s still refining the interface before a wider release. As more users get access, the platform is monitoring performance and fixing bugs to ensure a smooth, reliable experience for everyone.
